When Smart Friends Mashup
Ok, first, I don’t really like the word mashup. It’s too unpolished and raw for what happens in many cases. It lacks elegance. On the other hand, it gives a graphic visualization of what occurs when things collide.
When smart friends collaborate and mashup their efforts, I pay attention. Tickling the fringes of my radar some something Stuart Henshall and Dina Mehta are working on. When it comes to smart people…people who really grasp a grand and global vision, they’re a couple of the smartest people I’ve ever know. They’re the kind of people we all hope we get to work with on some project at some point.
I’ve know they knew each other for quite some time, but have no idea how long they’ve been doing this together. Maybe I’m just slow to catch on. It’s clearly been around for a while. That they started doing this in 2005 speaks to their foresight and vision.
Mosoci provides the research, tools and connections that lead to more innovative communities. We help you think upstream, accelerate learning and gain unique insights that create new products, services and markets.
We help companies big and small, global and local hold effective conversations about change. We love consumer products; new media, communications (VoIP, mobile) and technology. We are deeply engaged in Web 2.0 initiatives which are creating revolutionary new best practices for relating to you and me as users, customers and brand communities.
We are passionate about our work, our expressions and our views and in particular the emerging mobile social world. We are neither generalists or experts; rather we are synthesizers. We know all of us are better than any one of us; our approach is collective and collaborative.
We bring together a remarkable community of early adopters and sage advisors, all with a ruthless curiosity about the future. We have a deep knowledge of mobility, social media, product definition, and their underlying technologies.
Stuart Henshall and Dina Mehta set up Mosoci in 2005 after collaborating virtually through blogs, social media and tools from 2003. Our experience and services cover the globe with leading companies each seeking a strategic edge. Each engagement is customized to context and may run from days to months depending on your needs.
I’m just posting this because I think it’s really cool to have such fascinating, brilliant people as friends.

Ken,
I should meet these people, haha! What a fantastic idea, for friends to collaborate like this. I need more information, but it sounds brilliant.
Clearly, you think highly of these two.
I’m with you…I have not been clear on what it is about the term mashup that bothers me. Having said that, it is a pretty graphic and obvious description.
Kudos to your friends! Best wishes for a happy and productive alliance.
Yes you should meet them Sheryl. Actually, I’ve never met Dina. She’s in India and on those rare occasions she’s been in the states, I’ve always been in the wrong part of the country. But I do look forward to meeting her in person. She’s one very sharp cookie. And Stuart is pure genius in my view. He thinks about ten steps ahead of me. And he’s an incredibly nice guy too. I’ll be glad to help introduce you to either or both. Or feel free to introduce yourself through comments on their blogs and let them know you’re a friend of mine.
[…] and totally humbled by Ken Camp who heaps praise and points to our about page on the direction our new venture “Mosoci” is taking. […]
hey ken … wow. what a surprise and utter delight to discover your post, and your most flattering words! we weren’t planning to say much out loud until early Sept - when Stuart is here in India! then this is the beauty and wonder of this world we play and work in …. the spontaneous discoveries, the jazz play and the connections, the little surprises and delights that just reinforce my belief that we are all part of a connected global family.
stuart and I have been working together for a few years now, on research projects, learning journeys and we had conducted a Brand 2.0 workshop early last year, before he got caught up in the start-up in India. we’re back now as a collective, a collaboratory - not sure I want to use the word ‘company’…. and we really hope and believe the more of us that participate, the better we all are.
thanks for the encouragement as always … and we warmly look forward to your participating in and building the collaboratory with us.
thanks for the comment too Sheryl, feel free to contact us or drop in a comment anytime - http://mosoci.com/contact-us/

Blogger’s Posts Launch Mosoci…
I didn’t expect to blog today about new ventures and plans. Then in a world of twitter steams, IM exchanges and general old fashion sharing we often get the “push” that accelerates us forward down the path. I found Ken……
I certainly don’t have what it takes to play in this game, Ken, but if a breakfast meeting ever takes place where you can make an opening for me to sit in, I’ll be there! …wonderful minds and a terrific flow of creative energy. -mg
